Welcome! Our Preschool is located at the corner of 35th St. and C Avenue on the northeast side of Cedar Rapids. Cedar Rapids Preschool of KPPC was organized in 1987 by a group of parents and church members. It is a non-profit organization operating under a Board of Directors consisting of parents of children in the preschool and members of KPPC, a church that has a rich history of serving children in our community. We are open to serve children of all religious, racial and ethnic backgrounds in the Cedar Rapids area.
PHILOSOPHY
The purpose of this preschool is to provide opportunities for social,
emotional, physical, and intellectual growth through creative play and developmentally appropriate
learning experiences. This program is carried out with the guidance of
teachers and parents who understand the needs and limitations of three and
four year old children.
LICENSING
Cedar Rapids Preschool of KPPC is liscensed by the Department of Human
Services and falls under their jurisdiction. The three year old program can
accept a maximum of 12 children per class with a teacher and assistant.
The four year old program can accept a maximum of 16 children per class
with a teacher and assistant. Children need to be toilet trained.
PROGRAMS
We offer 2 1/2 hour morning programs for three and four year old preschool
age children. Parents can choose to enroll their child in a class where
each parent volunteers to take turns on a rotating basis serving
as the teacher assistant or
parents can choose a class where there is a permanent teacher assistant employed by the Preschool.
3 Year Old Options:
Tuesday and Thursday Mornings from 9:00 am to 11:30 am - Parent Assisted
Wednesday and Friday Mornings from 9:00 am to 11:30 am - Teacher Aide Assisted
Child must be three by September 15th.
4 Year Old Options:
Monday, Wednesday and Friday Mornings from 9:00 am to 11:30 am - Parent Assisted
Tuesday and Thursday Mornings from 9:00 am to 11:30 am - Teacher Aide Assisted
Child must be four by September 15th.
